#MACS FAN CONTROL MAX SPEED REDDIT PC#
I feel the cooler you keep your vid cards the longer they last,i have always ran the fans faster then a stock profile and have yet to have a vid card die on me,till this last hurricain my 9800pro fan croaked on me since we lost power at work for a few days and when i went to start the pc the vid card fan was dead,i put a 80mm fan blowing right on the old 9800pro but still getting artifacts bad.I am goin to replace it with a x800xt with a aftermarket artic cooling fan/heatsink from my fx53 940 pin cpu with registered corsair dom memory on a old asus nforce 150 mb.I should setup that whole system for work.be a hell of alot better then a 2ghz.Īnyways if,you dont want to use the motherboard onboard fan controllers,i recommend a good fan controller Imm using the NZXT sentry,it takes up 1 Cd bay, that costs about 20$,They also have 2 better controllers,NZXT Sentry LX it takes up 2 cd bays and will let you see 5 fans once plus a clock, then there best is the NZXT Sentry LXE that i think is overkill.I just want to add my plain NZXT sentry also has 5 temp sensors one for each fan or component you want to monitor. Well imm running a haf 922 case,a dust magnet since we smoke and have large dogs. But i am running a sentry fan controller, that will control 6 fans, right now i have my 2 200mm fans hooked to it along with my asutek 120mm radiator, basically a h60 with dual 120mm orange quiet fans in a push pull config.1 200mm fan is in the front intake that goes over the hard drives, the other 200mm fan i moved from the top exhaust to side intake onto my 560tiSC sli cards, with my 2600k running 4.2ghz the sentry fan controller i run them on auto that sets them to about 50-60% with normal pc usage surfing and such.My cpu temps run between 32-38c at idle and will top out at 62c loaded. At 50%-60% fan speeds the 200mm fans are silent, heck they are silent even at 100% witch is only around 800rpms.But my cpu fans i would guess run at around 35dbs at 100% fan speeds and give me 31-35 degrees at idle on the cpu, loaded i top off around 60c.Idont know if its normal but core 1 is always about 3-5 degrees hotter then the rest of my cpu cores, like right now at idle core 0 is at 30c,core1 at 35c,core2 at 33c,core 3 at 33c.Any input on i72600k core temp differences would be appreciated, but i think thats normal:)(Īs for my video cards i use the EVGA overclocking program with a modified fan profile that runs them at 40% at idle instead of the default 30%,plus i have them ramp up pretty quick to 80-100% once temps break 50c - 60c. I also didn't clear CMOS after the BIOS update, is this completely necessary or just a recommendation? This is what I am scared about, it overheating and frying itself and stuff around it.
38 is low for idle but the cooler the longer your PC will last, or is this low to the point where that doesn't really factor in to this? Also like you said your GPU is running a little warm. If it is reading 28 C and it is really at 38 C and I don't know it it might not kick in as early as it should.
#MACS FAN CONTROL MAX SPEED REDDIT UPDATE#
My GPU gets warm, but never overheats.Īfter the 1850 ASUS BIOS update my temp fell 10C. My CPU fan is an ultra-quiet low-speed model. The front 240mm fan is set to the lowest possible speed with the adjustable dial. Why add unnecessary dust and noise? I have the same Corsair case as you, with a 2500K and a Geforce GTX 560ti. It's a matter of taste, but I like to run my fans as low as possible.
I clean out the dust with compressed air every month or month and a half, high psi but I am very careful and don't max out the nozzle, would you still lower the fan speeds?
